This support article documents what each field in "Settings, Commerce" within your admin does.

Show Prices. This setting determines which website users will see product prices when they are visiting your website (not in the admin, but on the front-end). This setting has 5 options available. Off, Admin, Everyone, Authenticated, and Group.

  • Off. This will disable pricing on the front of the website to all visitors. No one will see pricing for any items
  • Admin. This will disable pricing on the front of the website to all visitors, unless they are logged in and have admin privileges (so typically the store owner and the Thinkspace team)
  • Everyone. This will show pricing to all site visitors. Note that within "Shop, Price Rules" you may hide pricing for certain brands to override this
  • Authenticated. This is uncommon, but allows authenticated users can see pricing. This is typically used on Vendor wholesale websites where they want to show pricing only to authenticated retailers, but not to customers.
  • Group. This is uncommon, but allows specific admin groups to see pricing.

Group. This field is only used if you select "Group" under "Show Prices"- you can then specify which groups will be able to see pricing.

Show Materials. Uncommonly used. This field allows you to specify pricing to be shown only for certain metal types. This was built at the request one a few users but is very uncommon

Add to Cart (checkbox): Enables the shopping cart on the site. Note that checking this box just turns on the cart- you still need to make sure to complete the other necessary ecommerce steps, like setting up payment methods, shipment methods etc.

Label: Default is "Shopping Cart". Allows you to designate a name for your cart, like "Shopping Bag", etc.

Short label: Allows you to designate a short form name. Default is "Cart". This shows up in the menu of the sites.

Label Icon: By default the icon is "fas fa-shopping-cart", but can be changed to a different icon. More icons can be found here: https://fontawesome.com/icons

Payment Icons: Allows you to select which icons you would like to display under the add to cart button. Options include Paypal, Discover, Mastercard, Visa, and American Express. You can add all of them or just select ones.

Hide Quantity (checkbox): If you check off this box then a customer will not see a 'select quantity' option in the cart, and thus will only be able to purchase one of each item.

Use Input Field for Quantity (checkbox). If this is unchecked then customers will see a dropdown for quantity. If you check this box then it will instead show a field that they can type in the number that they want of the item in their cart.

Checkout: This determines what type of checkout occurs on the website when Cart is enabled. Memo checkout does not take any payment information and acts similar to an inquiry. It requires the customer provide their contact info, billing info, etc, and shows them the total price. But you must then contact the customer to complete the transaction (typically by phone via credit card). Purchase is a standard website checkout, and requires you to provide either Paypal or credit card processing.

Default Shipping: During checkout you can set the default shipping method to Shipping, or Pick Up. Or you can leave this blank to allow users to choose.

Pick up location from map (checkbox): If checked buyer can select pick up location from map on checkout process.

Notify selected store (checkbox):  If checked selected location is notified with an email on purchase. This email for each location can be added via "Company, Locations"

Discount Text: By default this is listed as "Discount Code". Can be renamed to something else, like "Coupon Code", etc.

Discount Help: This field is empty by default. You can add a short message that will sit next to the "Discount Code" field.

Item Detail Price Text: If the price is hidden for a brand, this is what is shown. Can be customized to whatever you like. By default, clicking on it will link to the item inquiry form for that item.

Item Detail Price Link: If you would prefer the above link to go somewhere else, you can select a different page on the site here (uncommon)

Disable Size Choice (checkbox): Some items in the system (typically rings) have a size choice, by default. If you check off this box then size choice will not be available for any rings on the site. Alternately you can limit sizing (upper and lower limits) on a brand-by-brand basis. To do that click"Catalog, Brands" and select the brand you wish to edit, and then set the sizing limits in there.

Size Choices Replacement Label: If size choices are disabled (via the above checkbox), you can put some help text for customers there instead.

Hide 'Don't know or see my size' option (checkbox): By default, customers will always see "I don't know or see my size" as an option when sizing is enabled. You can disable that by checking this box.

Show agree to terms (checkbox): If you check this box then customers will need to agree to the terms an conditions before being able to check out on the site (uncommon)

Agree to terms label: Text displayed right to the agree button.

Terms page: Page linked to on required agree to terms field

Currency

Home Currency: The currency prices should be displayed in. (Default: USD)

Show Currency (checkbox): Denote Home Currency next to price, example USD, CAD, etc. If left unchecked then Home Currency will not be listed next to the price. For example, unchecked would be $100. Checked would be $100 USD

Financing

Page: If selected, customers will be shown the below TEXT, and this will link to the financing page chosen here.

Text: If a page is selected above for financing, this text will be shown (and will link to the financing page chosen above)

Receipts

To Email: This is the email address on your end that will receive confirmations of website purchases. Must be set for ecommerce.

From Email: This is the email the customer will see when they make a purchase. Must be set for ecommerce

Phone Number: This is the phone number that will be listed in the email confirmation sent to the customer, in case they have questions about their order.

Text. When a customer makes a purchase from the website they receive an email confirmation with the purchase amount, the item purchased, and their billing/shipping addresses, along with a simple text message along the lines of "If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. We will follow up shortly to confirm your order". You can override that text here.

Payment Processors

On Site: Currently two options are available for onsite credit card purchasing: Authorize.net and Converge. If you want a customer to submit payment on the site directly with their credit card (not through Paypal) then you must select one of these two options and put in your proper credentials below.

Transaction Type: The two options are Authorize, or Authorize and Capture. Authorize is for testing purposes only, so if you wish to enable credit card purchasing then you must select Authorize and Capture.

Credit Cards: What credit card(s) would you like to allow? Please select them here.

Off Site: Currently Thinkspace supports Paypal Standard and Paypal Express. If you wish to use one of these options then please select it and provide your credentials below.

Authorize.Net

Test Mode (checkbox): This allows for test transactions to be run. Note that it must be configured for sandbox mode within authorize.net. If you have not configured Sandbox mode then this will run as a normal transaction.

API Login ID: You must login to authorize.net and request your API Login ID and then place it here.

Transaction Key: When you request your API Login it will also provide you with a transaction key to place here.

Cardinal Commerce: This is an additional external service that can be purchased and layered with authorize.net for added transaction security. To enable it you must first purchase an account with Cardinal Commerce and then get the API information below and input it into the appropriate fields.

APIKey, OrgUnitId, and ApiIdentifier must be entered in order to use Cardinal Commerce. Those can be found within your Cardinal Commerce account on their website.

Converge: This is an alternative to authorize.net, as can be entered in much the same way.

Test Mode (checkbox) This allows for test transactions to be run. Note that it must be configured for sandbox mode within Converget. If you have not configured Sandbox mode then this will run as a normal transaction.

Merchant ID, User ID, and PIN must be entered to use Converge. Those can be found within your account when logging into Converge

PayPal Payments Standard. This is the basic form of Paypal. Fairly straightforward- enter your email in the appropriate field, and make sure you have enabled it in the "Off site" field above.

Test Mode (checkbox). This allows for test transactions to be run. Note that it must be configured for sandbox mode within Paypal. If you have not configured Sandbox mode then this will run as a normal transaction.

Email. Enter your paypal email here.

Allow Credit Cards (checkbox). Enabling this option will show the Credit Card symbols next to the Paypal symbol during checkout. This is recommended if you plan to accept Paypal as a payment option but will not be using authorize.net, that way customers will know they can still pay via credit card (using Paypal for the transaction processor).

PayPal Payments Express

Test Mode (checkbox): This allows for test transactions to be run. Note that it must be configured for sandbox mode within Paypal. If you have not configured Sandbox mode then this will run as a normal transaction.

The other fields must be entered from Paypal in order to use Paypal Payments Express.

Billing / Shipping Address restrictions

Disable Billing Address (checkbox): If you check off this box then customers will not be able to put in a different billing address than where they are shipping. The advantage of doing this is it decrease fraud attempts greatly, as most fraud is done via stolen credit cards shipping to a different (non-billing) address, and then disputing the charge. The downside to this is that people may be ordering products as gifts, so this will make them unable to ship it anywhere but their own billing address.

Allow Countries/Allowed States/Provinces: This allows you to remove specific countries or states/provinces from ecommerce checkout. By default all states in the US are enabled.

Gift Cards

Enable (checkbox). Enable gift cards usage on the shopping cart: This box is only usable if you have a two-way sync between your point of sale system and the website to authenticate the usage of gift cards. This is uncommon.
